- My underwriter has requested a pool inspection. The pool/house has been winterized by hud. The pool also has a secured cover built to hud standards. How should I proceed? Also They have requested a mold inspection be done on the house. Is this normal for a fha loan? Appraisal shows a picture of the standard signs in the windows such as plumbing winterization and mold warnings. The appraiser also took pictures of mildew in bathtub with statement "possible mold/mildew like substance". Is it normal to request a mold inspection? I am wondering if the pictures of the warning signs scared them. Mortgage company is not budging on these items saying they must be inspected.They will not even listen when I offer to sign a hold harmless.I have bought a hud in the past and never had these problems.
